Roll on Esperanza

I collaborated with two other women to create this children’s book in 2022. The author, Lupe Pinzon, wanted to share the story of a little girl with spina bifida who slowly but surely starts to feel more comfortable with who she is.

For the illustrations, I wanted to focus all the attention on the main character, Esperanza, and the friends she makes along the way. To do this, I kept backgrounds simpler and only used full color on Esperanza and the other children with disabilities.
